Elijah Blanchard was named Senior Pastor of The New Covenanrt Church of Christ as of January 2020. Pastor Elijah Blanchard is a native of Winfield, Alabama where he grew up as a young child prior to enlisting in the United States Air Force. Pastor Elijah Blanchard was called to the ministry in 2009 and was ordained since 2010 under teachings and guidance of some dynamic Church of Christ preachers such as Pastor W.C. Edwards (Powderly Church of Christ) and late Pastor Robert Ivory (Westside Church of Christ).
Pastor Blanchard is an energetic preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and he builds his Christian faith from Hebrews 11:1, Matthew 16:18 and Psalm 121:1. Pastor Blanchard loves the Word of God.
He firmly believes that:
“1 Corinthians 1:21-24 kjv 21) For after in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22) For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23) But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and the Greeks foolishness; 24) But we them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.”
With this biblical framework, Pastor Blanchard serves God by guiding his congregation of believers and ministering to with lost souls and to the community as whole.
Pastor Blanchard grew up in Bazmore, Alabama and attended high school at Winfield High School. He enlisted into the United States Air Force after high school, and afterwards he attended the University of Alabama and Faulkner University where he studied Business Management and Biblical Studies.
In 2010, Pastor Blanchard began his work in the ministry at Powderly Church of Christ, serving as assistant to the pastor, under the leadership of W.C. Edwards. He has participated in various speaking engagements across the state of Alabama preaching the gospel since 2009.
Pastor Blanchard is married to Yashiba Glenn-Blanchard, Esq. The couple has four children – Chelsey, Casey, Elijah, (late) Aniah, one grandchild Koi and three puppies Maggie, Karl and Dallas.
